The Anzu Tribe

Who is Anzu? Who are his followers? What is a tribe of Anzu? Since the dawn of civilization, there have been myths of people’s creation. Every nation had its own god and believed that the god created the whole world and all the people. What if the reality is completely different? What if the people have created their gods as something resembling themselves in its true nature but better in every aspect? What if people created their gods as a better version of themself, as something to look upon when struggling to achieve higher goals? That’s how the god Anzu was born. In the form of a bird, a creature that is always nearby, always in reach of our sight but still hard to catch or tame. Even in the age of airplanes, the birds keep always their distance from us and they have the ability to easily and freely move in all directions of the three-dimensional space. They are true masters of our world and we want to be the same. That’s why Anzu was born as a bird.

But what are the attributes of the bird god? What does he stand for? And who are his followers and disciples? Usually, gods and religions were meant for small societies and people suffered a lot when two gods met and fought for power. Anzu is a god who unites all the people who like to look up at the sky to see birds and everything that’s bigger than us. Everyone can take a look up at the night sky. When a person is more of a scientist, he or she can see the planets of our solar systém, the milky way, a vast number of suns rising on distant planet shores.

On the other hand more artistic soul can see a hundred billion flares splayed out across the canvas. These two impressions are two keys values represented by Anzu and praised by his followers – art that stimulates our imagination, shatters our boundaries and ignites our curiosity – science that uses our curiosity as a fuel, expands our world and universe and moves us closer to god-like state. Art and science are two cornerstones that Anzu’s totem pole stands on, two wings of the bird god and every being which is devoted to these paths of thinking and acting holding a special value for humanity, is welcome in the tribe of Anzu.

All those curious life forms are expected and supposed to ask why a „tribe“ has formed around the bird god Anzu. All gods are ancient beings and myths say that they came long before humans, even that they created the world and the whole universe. Even though Anzu was born from people’s thoughts only, he is as well as all ancient beings undisputably and firmly connected with the earth, the moon, the sun, and the whole universe since it’s the people’s most natural habitat. However, only gods are perfect, people are not. Our bodies dwell deep in the past, in the age of paleolithic hunters and gatherers, our minds and conscience live in the present-day but our societies have deeply penetrated the borders of the future.

The essence of genus homo is spread across eons which brings the eternal source of knowledge but also great misunderstanding and pain. Since art and science aim for the future of humankind and grows as branches of treetops, the ancient nature of Anzu is an anchor of the past and its roots go deep underground. Anzu tribe is the trunk of a tree, its most important and for a human most accessible part which would be just a plain log without roots and a treetop. Anzu tribe is a bridge between the past and the future, a balanced path between conservative societies which are afraid to take a leap forward and progressive societies that dare to ignore the wisdom of our ancestors. Anzu tribe is a direct answer to the suffering and divided society. May every open-minded person finds a black feather of Anzu to look up at the sky and think, where the feather and all the things came from.

The last question concerning the tribe of Anzu that can come to mind is: who does represent Anzu in this world. The tribe is currently being lead by four avatars, the main characters of a fable depicting the birth of the Anzu tribe. Are those avatars real or not? Is it a reality of fiction? That’s indeed an interesting question. Maybe the avatars stay on the bridge between past and future, maybe on the intersection of scientific evidence and artistic imagination. The only thing that matters is their masked manifestation which every tribe member or enthusiast can witness with his eyes. Although there are already other members of the Anzu society, there must always be core personas in every tribe: the chieftain, the shaman, the warrior, and the trickster. You can meet them right here.

Lorekeeper Detaremu

The chieftain and leader of the tribe who makes all the decission and sets the direction of the whole society. Detaremu is also the main keeper of the lore and also he communicates directly with Anzu.

Leafweaver Arkaroch

The shaman of the tribe and carrier of the ultimate wisdom of Anzu himself. Arkaroch is the philosopher and spiritual support bringing the answers and often even more questions

Z’Haakh the Firebringer

The trickster of the tribe, a loose cannon. As a counterpart to wisdom of Arkaroch, Z’Haakh is the spark which sometimes ignites fire of imagination and sometimes starts a deadly wildfire.

Qar’daghyr the Spearhead

The defender, the hunter, the mercenary. The impersonation of the tribal strength and immortality. Like his precedestors, Qar’daghyr won’t hesitate to fall for the tribe.
